Lithium batteries charging, discharging, balancing

This is a very long article, so be in the right mood to read it. There is a lot of information about lithium batteries.

Drop in battery issues.

Vibration.

Internal wiring.

BMS.

Life cycle claims.

Chargers.

Charging.

Discharging.

Voltage.

Alternator.

Storage.

As the article mentions, one spends a lot of money on lithium & you do not want to waste your money or have an even more expensive problem.

Thanks for that link. Long read with a lot to absorb. I'll be in the market for lithium in the next year. So this article has been very useful.

I could not have chosen a better heading to your blog. smile

I recently upgraded my Solar System to Lithium Batteries and Solar Charging.

I researched far and wide before undertaking the upgrade including seeking advice here.

I have consolidated my research of data and opinions into one document which I have attached for others contemplating installing a LiFePO4 solar system.

My solar system comprises of 800Watts fixed solar panels and one portable panel: a total of 1000Watts.

The Solar Charger is a MPPT Epever 80Amp charger.

The Lithium-Ion 2x135AH LiFePO4 batteries, in parallel, provides a 270AH battery bank.

I hope this helps somebody contemplating a LiFePO4 solar charge system.

I have included my detailed solar charger Lithium battery settings also.

Opinions and advice are most welcome.

Thanks for that Richard

I have downloaded it, and will have a good read of yours, and Whenarewethere websites, when I am closer to purchasing lithium batteries
