Hi everyone,

the news is very bad from my end, my lovely Thai wife has terminal cancer and I am making plans for when the time finally comes.

My body is failing me and I'm only 63.

4 bulging discs, one collapsed with the 2 vertebrae touching and grinding, arthritis in L4/5 facet joint, moderately severe arthritis in both

sacroiliac joints.

Sciatica in left leg, meralgia paraesthetica in left thigh, umbilical hernia, diastasis recti, both shoulders are a mess requiring steroid injections,

tendons on both shoulders detached and left muscle between my sholuder and neck, arthritis in both hands and wrists.

Dupuytren's contracture starting in both hands, positional vertigo in right ear, severe tinnitus in both ears with the left worse.

Muscle wasting, it hurts me to sit.

Type 2 diabetes.

BUT the Government says I'm not bad enough to get the Disability Support Pension!

As I don't have a house I have had to use my superannuation to buy a 2008 Nissan and a Snowy River SR18 caravan with lots of solar

to go off grid for extended periods to save on park fees.

So that I won't be bored I have decided to get my Amateur Radio license again after a lapse of about 15 years and lie back and talk to the world.

Hope I didn't bore you. Maybe see you out there!

Welcome to the gang VK2FJW, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Aches and pains and the like are a mongrel of a thing, I have Arthur's ritis setting in, in various locations on this old Indian body and the ticker goes tick, tick but misses the tock so have to be careful in that department as well and I tell you that for free.

I know exactly what you are going through with your lovely wife as I went through it with my wife of many moons. I wont say lovely wife as she might read this from up in the clouds and think I'm sick and soon to join her. I can hear her now, "the mongrel can't be without me". She probably forgets she often told me I will go down there and not up there. It has been 11 years this year without her.

Enough of all that, but,

Keep safe on the roads and out there.

Crook and in pain in a caravan at lovely free camp or crook and in pain in a dismal little flat. I think you have chosen the best option. At least when you can afford it you might get to travel a bit. And I do know where you are coming from as I've been ill and in pain in some interesting places.
For now love the wife and be kind to yourself
