Hi guys, newbie here just looking to start travelling in the next 12 months or so.
Just after some advice on some good vans for off road travel
*There are only 2 of us with 1 large dog, definitely want an inside toilet and shower.
*Preferably single axle just in case we decide to do some beach driving.
*Definitely want something with a decent chassis
*I have a 2017 Patrol so 3.5t towing with a max ball weight of 350kg. I would prefer something 3t ATM or under
*I was thinking about a used Kimberley Karavan but after seeing one in person I realised they are smaller than I thought (still an option though). I also looked at a gazal but have noticed most dont have and inside toilet/shower
What are some other options out there the cheaper the better. Budget 25-50k but the cheaper it is the sooner Ill be able to buy and get on the road/tracks
Welcome to the site Tony. A "decent chassis" suggests to me that you are looking for a caravan in the league of Explorex, Evernew, Kedron or Trackmaster - all of which are made in Australia with Australian steel chassis. They are all relatively heavy vans, so you will need your Patrol as a tug. They all are top of the range vans with a very expensive entry price as new vans, but there should be some good second hand ones within your price range.
I suggest you download free technical information and check lists at www.caravancouncil.com.au/
