Looking for opinions on an off road van

Hi guys, newbie here just looking to start travelling in the next 12 months or so. Just after some advice on some good vans for off road travel *There are only 2 of us with 1 large dog, definitely want an inside toilet and shower. *Preferably single axle just in case we decide to do some beach driving. *Definitely want something with a decent chassis *I have a 2017 Patrol so 3.5t towing with a max ball weight of 350kg. I would prefer something 3t ATM or under *I was thinking about a used Kimberley Karavan but after seeing one in person I realised they are smaller than I thought (still an option though). I also looked at a gazal but have noticed most dont have and inside toilet/shower What are some other options out there the cheaper the better. Budget 25-50k but the cheaper it is the sooner Ill be able to buy and get on the road/tracks

Welcome to the site Tony. A "decent chassis" suggests to me that you are looking for a caravan in the league of Explorex, Evernew, Kedron or Trackmaster - all of which are made in Australia with Australian steel chassis. They are all relatively heavy vans, so you will need your Patrol as a tug. They all are top of the range vans with a very expensive entry price as new vans, but there should be some good second hand ones within your price range.
I suggest you download free technical information and check lists at www.caravancouncil.com.au/

Possum3 Thanks for that, just had a quick look at the link and I think the articles will help a lot. I will look into your recommendations over the weekend. Thanks again for your input
