Ford Transit 2000 Model - Conversion - NO VASS

Hi Fellow Travellers

We're looking at purchasing a 2000 Ford Transit which is Victorian registered until Oct 2021 (our state) as a van (no VASS)  what would be the implications of this?  The seller said she got insurance through CIL Insurance however I'm wondering whether we would run into difficulty on the road if we were pulled over.  Any advice appreciated.  There's seems to be alot of conversions with no VASS out there at the moment :(

VASS Certification is mandatory. www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/registration/vehicle-modifications-and-defects/vehicle-modifications/vass-approval-certificate

Hello Cathie,
If you need a VASS it's not a big deal, just google VicRoads VASS Engineers, I used the Jason he is listed in Ballarat area, he is actually in Buninyong, he is a top bloke and he does a lot of Motorhomes and Caravan set-ups.
You can email him with any questions, it's worth it for 'peace of mind'.
Cheers
