Blood clots/ AZ Vaccine

Is that the real number of people with blood clots? How do you know? Because it was reported by a govt that has spent a lot of taxpayers money acquiring the vaccine and is badly in need of vaccinated numbers increasing so that their big wealthy campaign contributors are kept happy and to win an election.? How far will they go?

I'm very happy for people to refuse the vaccine. There are too many people in the world. Getting rid of the stupid ones is a good start.

Do you have a different number msg?

If so, then let us know, so we can be up to date. If not, then whether the government, big business or Harry Houdini provided it, it is all we have to make decisions with.

The conspiracy theories surrounding this pandemic astound me.

I don't really understand how statements of how one feels the next day has any relevance to the safety or otherwise of the vaccines. It is a bit like having a medical the week after you started smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol to excess and pronouncing it has had no deleterious effects. The real issue is how you are in a few months or a year or so. I am not in any hurry to have some vaccine tested on me because a politician told me I should. I will wait and see. If others want to have it now, then that is their choice and not for me to comment.

Who said it was a conspiracy theory. I though it was more like a question about something I found that I didn't have enough clarity. So, Ian what gives you faith in the numbers. Apparently the effectivness is overstated in the above cartoon. The real efficacy of the vaccines in not 95% at all.

I have faith to the extent that nothing else has been presented. They may or may not be totally correct, but in the absence of evidence to the contrary, they are believable.

If something else is available msg, then let me know.

WRT the conspiracy theory comment, that is more a generalised comment re what has been happening throughout the COVID pandemic. Bill Gates, transmission by 5G radio waves, the New World Order and other such things. Your comment re the numbers being promulgated by a Govt that needs to justify its expenditure of taxpayers money to get vaccines so that they continue to get big donations to win the next election seems to be close to a conspiracy theory as well to me.

I do understand that the efficacy of vaccines is not 95%, but I also know that the efficacy of not vaccinating is 0%!

So I repeat that my position is this, as it is for most things. In the absence of evidence to the contrary, I must go with the evidence I do have.

Well i'd rather wait awhile and maybe have the Phizer vaccine when available.

Meanwhile back at the ranch ,I;d rather die from the virus than from the cure ,lol

So it is sillier to believe some information without question, than ones unsubstantiated feelings and bias.

If other reasonable information, can be presented to make your contention more believable than the current official figures, I would support your position. Until then, I will have to remain one of the poor misguided followers of what is available.

It's impossible to reason with people who are incapable of logical thought.wink

REASONING

Does the human being reason? No; he thinks, muses, reflects, but does not reason...That is, in the two things which are the peculiar domain of the heart, not the mind,--politics and religion. He doesn't want to know the other side. He wants arguments and statistics for his own side, and nothing more.

They are urging people to get the vaccine because there is a threat of mutant strains coming here. At the same time they are unsure as to the efficacy of the current vaccines against these strains.

"In Australia, only one person a 48-year-old woman has died from the AstraZeneca vaccine, and she had other serious medical issues. That is, clotting is rare and can make you very sick but in countries with good healthcare, it doesn't kill healthy people."

One of a number of statements that is confusing. If AZ doesn't kill healthy people, with the inference it only kills the sick then why are they insisting on giving it to the elderly and frail? and saving the good stuff for the fit and healthy?

For some reason population control/reduction doesn't seem to be a popular topic.

Billy Connolly came up with a solution, cannibalism, as he comments in this YouTube clip, if all of us ate one other person the problem would be halved overnight, he then take his reasoning to its logical conclusion, wonderful stuff and so very sensible.biggrin

With all the stuff about blod clotting, I have to admit that I had some hesitation with the AZ vaccine. But when I sat down and seriously thought about this, the chances of me getting Covid are higher, getting run over by a bus are higher, and I went out and bought a lotto ticket because my chances in that are better than getting a blood clot. I have had the first jab now and must wait until August to get the second. I think the media beat this up way too much. To get a blood clot from it you need to have an extremely rare form of platelet problem in the first place. The rarity of that is such that Covid is far more dangerous.

The chances of being in hospital with covid in Australia is very remote. Here is the latest figures from the Australian Govt website.

22 people-- yes only 22. people To much scaremongering

Captureblood clots6.JPGVery interesting figures from the Australian Government website,as you can see 22 people out of 25 million pop. in hospital with covid less than 1 in a million.

Get the Astrazeneca vaccine and you get 4-6 people per million getting TTS . Blood clots.

Why get the vaccine and reduce you odds of survival.I trust my natural immune system to protect me.

Your body your choice , my body my choice.

Wish people could leave it at that, instead of trying to dictate to others.

It is your choice no question. But expect the new normal to be that if you wish to travel overseas or by air, being vaccinated will be a requirement. Don't think that's real? I can remember a time when if you wish to travel overseas you had to have smallpox and cholera vaccinations. No one thought twice about it. It was just part of the process like getting a passport. It will not surprise me if it becomes like this for Covid to protect fellow travellers if nothing else. If Australia gets hit with a big 2nd wave which is entirely possible with returning overseas travellers, I want to be vaccinated to give myself the maximum possible chance of survival.

Also keep in mind that to date we have had far more than 22 people in hospital with this disease and about 1000 Australians have paid with their lives because of it. And Australia has got off very light so far. The only way we are going to get back to anything remotely resembling normal is by the population getting vaccinated. So I urge you to go away and have a real good think about this. The scaremongering is about the vaccine not covid and all vaccines have odd bods who are allergic to them and have an adverse reaction

Hi everyone,
I went and had my first AZ jab on Sunday morning around 10.00 am, I didn't even fell the needle and went home and thought that was that, not so.
I must say that the last time I had the Flu injection (about 10 years ago) I was crook for 2 weeks, so I haven't had one since and have not had the flu.
Anyway about 11.00 pm I started to get really really cold hands and feet, so socks on and off to bed, around 1.00am Monday morning I woke up shivering and shaking uncontrollably, and I mean shaking all over, I was in bed all day Monday and then started feeling better in the evening, I had a very uncomfortable night with aches and pains in almost every joint, got up his morning (Tuesday) my hips were real painful, I just couldn't walk off the pain so I took a couple Panadol and within an hour I was almost back to normal.
My next Jab is booked in 3 weeks time and this time I will have 2 pairs of socks on and gloves on for bed, even tough it knocked me around a bit I am still keen to get the next Jab and see how that goes.
Stay well.

Morning Greg, both of your latest posts to this thread display good logic and clarity of thought.

If only others were prepared to work toward the well being of all instead of quoting flawed logic and adopting selfish attitudes we would see a a faster end to the current Covid issue.

Rubbery figures, falsehoods and selfishness benefit no one.

Statements such as this "I trust my natural immune system to protect me"  is pretty much a case of F*ck you jack, I'm alright, it displays arrogance, selfishness, and a dismissive disregard of others.smile
