water pump

I am just wondering about installing a 12v water pump to get my water up through the tap  when free camping, instead of using the  hand pump. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I really think that to get an answer, you need to include much more information, starting perhaps with what sort of vehicle is it.

Simple enough to do , 12v pump with pressure switch , tap , plumbing to suit and a 12v supply . any caravan supply should be able to supply all required and any advice required .

Have a look on Caravans Plus website, they have info thread on plumbing, (build your own plumbing system). Might give you some ideas. They also have all the gear to do the job.

Do it, it's a basic job most mugs can do. I regret not leaving the hand pump in place, as the 12 volt pump is loud enough for me to think it might disturb my neighbour's late at night while I clean my teeth or fill the kettle. I mounted the pump under the van on Tha chassis rail on an anti vibration sheet which is much quieter than just mounted on the wooden floor or cupboard wall. Get the pump off flea bay around 15 lpm. Water goes in one side come out the other. If you use a flick mixer as a tap you need to blank one side off (I set mine up for mains pressure when in a park). I also put an isolation switch in near the sink, so I can turn the pump power off when I choose to.

It seems to be a fairly straightforward job, just be aware they take a high-ish current so ensure you feed it with appropriate size cable to minimise voltage drop. As long as you're comfortable using hand tools you'll be fine :)

The only other thing to note is that, for sure, you will use more water with an electric pump than a hand pump - I'll take a wild guess at 25% more?

Plenty of pumps on eBay:
