hello all - here we are hunkered down in a rather cool Melbourne! We had hoped to be on the road long ago in our baby van to escape the colder weather here. We are a retired couple and bought the very small Adria Action 361 to make life on the road light and easy as I am the driver given my husbands poorer eyesight. It has all the mod cons including shower and loo, Bluetooth etc ... so we just need the roads to be opened and were off. HOWEVER! I have not yet mastered the art of reversing and to store the van under our house, I need to reverse down a gravel drive and then make a sharp turn around a post holding up the balcony above. Im told I really need a van mover. I was looking at the valet mover but two knowledgeable relatives have advised that we should probably be looking at one of the remote controlled movers. Obviously being retired and on a fixed income, we want to get a product that will do the job without stressing us out but which doesnt cost a fortune.
Has anyone any experience of either the valet mover or the remote control units? Id really appreciate any thoughts and advice, please. My van ATM is 1400 kg. Thanks for any input!
Some of the ones that mount on the jockey wheel clamp do not like gravel, so be careful with what you buy in that regard. My father bought one like that for a van of similar size to yours and the thing just spun its wheels in the gravel and refused to move the van. See if you can get a demo of any that you are considering.
