Hey good find DickO. GMW normally sends out that stuff to all stakeholders but l've never seen that one.
Yes AA, I posted it here to clarify the misconceptions that the maintenance of Greens Lake is funded by local Councils and Ratepayers, which as you know is far from the reality.
What is not commonly known is that irrigation users provide the funds and the committee decides how those funds are best put to use. In this instance new amenities and dump point are being installed and rubbish removal will continue. I believe a designated area will be allocated to day visitors also. The local Councils have no financial input to this Site. That is why this Free Camp site should be afforded the respect it deserves in allowing free camping for 363 days of the year, with no time limits, free dump point and rubbish removal. The oversight committee should be commended for their foresight. However, in hindsight, it is the local businesses and the local Councils that benefit financially.
I see Greens Lake attracting a greater number of future visitors from Australia wide once the new services are in place.
I have yet, however, to hear from any traveller that can point to any similar site as Greens with the same services provided, unlimited stay, free and able to camp at the lake shore.
Let the Festive Season begin!

I think you need to contact the Victorian State Government and have them correct their advertising.
According to their press release they claim to have given GWM a 200K grant to build the new dunny.
They also state that the Corp is funded by State Govt and Local Councils.
This needs to be corrected, don't you think?
For your information they did get that grant to build the toilet block.
I voted for it, was so thrilled when Greens won out of quite a list in this area.
