Hi All,

I have been following this site for some time now and thought it would be a good time to join.

Myself and my lovely wife (Dru) are retired and generally spend around 6 months of the year touring, usually in the summer as we are AFL fans and members of a club so winter time is taken up with football.

We travel to all sorts of areas and are not afraid to hit the tough stuff (Gunbarrell, Connie Sue, CSR etc.) and always look forward to our trips as we have only seen a very small portion of this great country.

I look forward to being part of this forum.

Richard

Hi and welcome Richard. I was a long term lurker before I joined this forum. One thing I have learned since joining and adding your honest opinion here is be prepared to be cut down. Whatever you do dont recommend any brand name products on here. Sure its only by a few know it alls but it happens. We have traveled the same canning, gunbarell and Connie sue roads as you. But in our camper trailer not caravan. Had a marvellous time on these and many other desert roads. Maybe I expected more from this forum, but it really isnt the friendly place I thought it would be. Good luck to you and your future travels Regards Pete.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for your welcome, yes after lurking here for some time I share your thoughts.

We were going to leave on this years trip this week but have canned it due to the fire problem and severe heat expected this summer, we endured enough heat last trip in QLD and NSW.

Regards

Richard

Good to see you have 'come out' though.

From lurking that is. What else did ya think I meant biggrin

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Hope it is not too late for me to say, welcome to the forum, RichardK

There are some friendly, helpful, and good people on this forum, as you would have realised, by being a long time lurker
