On the road again

Hi Folks

Been a nomad, gypsy, call it what you will, long before going grey. However now that I'm officially grey and no longer have to rely on fruit picking and the like for money, my partner and I are hitting the road in a couple of weeks making a beeline from Adelaide to the gem fields at Sapphire, central Qland. We are travelling in a Jaco (Fiat Ducato cab chases)and towing an Avan. Doubles as a spare room and lock up storage. I initially intended going via Bourke but now considering North from Dubbo. Interested in anyones experience with both routes as to fuel prices and availability, camping areas, both rest areas and caravan parks, places of interest along either route etc etc. We have a range of about 500km and do not want to bother with jerry cans. Also interested to hear from anyone who has been to the gem fields recently. I have not been there for 20 years or more.

Cheers Steve.
