Not much interest for 40% of the population who are not Facebook subscribers. You can not access that that info unless you are a Facebook member. Please extract the bits you want us to see and post them here.

Get your facts right Peter.

As a non Facebook member (which includes me) you can read all the info on the site, you just can't post to it.

Thats interesting as whenever I try to access facebook I am given only two options...sign up or log in. I would greatly appreciate advice on how to read stuff as I have less than zero interest in the rest of the world knowing where I dined last night.I look forward to your help.Cheers

This is exactly the point of where threads on this forum lose track away from the OP's post onto other subject in a negative manner. Some of us are tired of this attitude.

The OP was not about why you don't like Facebook. If you do not see any positives in that social media then it is up to you Yobarr and others not to use it. But you don't have to use this thread as a platform for your views on it when it becomes rude to the OP's post. Re: "as I have less than zero interest in the rest of the world knowing where I dined last night"

If you want an anti FB thread start one up.

Tony

Hi Tony.....terribly sorry that you found my post so offensive,as all I was doing was asking for advice on how to access FB without joining,as suggested by Bill.Again I will say that I would be happy to have Bill,or indeed anyone, advise how to read FB without joining.I sincerely hope that this clarifies my position? Cheers

You can join Facebook and set yourself up with maximum security. After a few tries I got it right so I can visit sites and leave minimal footprint. And the rest of the world only know where I dined last night if I am silly enough to post such information. Personal information on Facebook is only what you post. A fictitious name is a good start.

Ditto, Paul. It's ignorance of what FB is and how to set it up.

Just had a gander at that site. Lots of topics, fridges, a family doing a high country tour with beautiful pics and lithium battery article to name a few.

Tony,  There are 40% (and numbers increasing) of the population who do not want to be exposed to the intrusions of Facebook. We don't like these Chinese whispers going on. Newsgroups are supposed to be members informing all the other members, not just 60% or less. We would just like some of the guts of the article copied and pasted for us to see it.

Some of us are tired of this attitude.

Again it was you who escalated the thread right off course. We also have had a gut full of your outbursts.
