POLL: Recall notices on this forum are unwanted information.

Gday...

Please indicate your preference in this poll.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED for any comment/s to be added as it will be best for all concerned that they can remain anonymous.

Cheers - Stay well and happy and travel safely - John

They are of no interest to me so I don't read them.

But they may be of some use to others.

But then there is lots of stuff that doesn't interest me which get lots of responses from others.

See ...  I ignored your comment about there being no need to comment.  So what's new about that some may ask.

Perhaps yet another sticky for them?

Gday...

cry no cry Yep ... that's exactly wot I expect from this forum ... responses completely non-compliant and the original question unanswered.

I think it must be time I moved onto greener and less annoying pastures. This place certainly has fallen in a deep mineshaft in the past few years.

Cheers - John

Rocky instigated the poll so we all may assume that he placed that option within the poll responses.

As I said in another topic.....maybe just attention seeking. yawn

I read this forum most days and have done so for many years as although health stopped my caravanning I do enjoy the comments. Unfortunately a few people have to get really nasty at times with their replies which is sad as generally people are trying to be helpful. There is an old saying a few should be aware of....IF YOU CANT SAY SOMETHING NICE DONT SAY ANYTHING keith

Now I see that we are not to make comments about O.P. I voted yes keep, Rockylizard seems to be one of the few that when he replies it makes more sense than most,
surly, if you see a post and it doesn't interest you, then don't open and read it, like a TV program you don't like either, turn off or change stations Simple !

I think this topic should be in the jokes, because that is what it is.

Any advice or information is good even though it may not help everyone.

If you don't like the recall section ,DON'T READ THE BLOODY THING. How simple is that.

This forum relies on member input to survive, it is unfortunate that we are stifiled by not being able to post anything with any political or religious content, so any content is better than none.
If you don't want to read it, don't open it.
Rocky, don't be so harsh on your self.

So if I'm away travelling & Nissan sends me an urgent recall to my home address, how do I get the advice if my mail is held or transferred elsewhere?

Rocky, Thank you - you perform a valuable service to "most" members. I see a majority says "If you don't want to read it, don't open it".

In my opinion

This site has got some good information, information that has helped me, and I assume has helped many others

As there is some information, I am not really concerned about
I will also assume that there are others, who are also not really concerned about some types of information
It always our prerogative, not to read something we are not interested in

I have voted to keep the recalls coming
I also add
"Good on yer John, (Rockylizard)"

Perhaps we should have another button, in another topic
Should we get rid of the Red disclaimer, as I would also vote yes for that

 Warren ...

My dealer communicates with me using email in relation to any issue about my Mazda3     eg. upcoming services.

I would expect that applicable recall notices would use that method too.  Is that the case with your Nissan?

You are right that at the time of this post some 73% (including me) voted to keep them coming.  Of 79 votes in all!  Assuming that is, that the OP doesn't follow through on his stated intention to 'move onto greener & less annoying pastures'.  For my part, I would put them into a new 'Sticky' folder.  In any case, as previously stated, because they don't effect me, I just don't read them.

(I think that I'll unsubscribe from this thread.  It's getting all too much  .. bye)

edit  ..  Is the 'Red disclaimer' referred to in the previous post the one in my profile ...  If so you might like to PM me about it.

Probably no need to be a sticky, just a subforum folder would do.
Eventually all recalls become obsolete.
Dont worry, Rocky will be back to the sandpit after he has satisfied his ego by reading that we all want him to return.

 Hi Cupie

I have replied to your PM

You must be reading something in the written word, which I did not write

I wrote

Snip

Perhaps we should have another button, in another topic

Concerning this

Snip

WARNING: this is a recall notice that may have absolutely no bearing on anything you own or use. If the subject heading does not provide a description and information of any product that is one that you own or use, then please ignore this waste of time on my part.

cheers - John

Hope that this is not taking the topic off track, but it is very easy to misinterpret, what someone has written
Or should I say, the writer of a post, (in this case me), is perhaps not exactly clear in what he means
What I meant by the red disclaimer, was the red bit above which John (Rockylizard), has recently been putting in his posts

Tony  ..

Sorry, my mistake.

As I don't read the recall notices, I was not aware of the 'disclaimer' footnote.

Perhaps just more evidence of what poor tools email & the like are for communicating.

You do have to wonder about people's mentalities.

I haven't been reading the recall notices, as they don't affect any product/s I own. But I personally think having them there is a good "community service", and the gathering and dissemination of such information surely is a large part of the purpose of a forum such as this?

But it seems that:

A) Someone has decided to post recall notices, just in case forum members are affected. (Good idea, IMHO)

B) Someone else has complained (proving that no matter what it is, someone will find some reason to complain about it).

C) The poll in this thread has resulted from that/those complaint/s

D) Sanity is, it would seem, prevailing, as most are voting to leave the recall notices where they are (as will I when I finish posting this).

Surely, it can't be too hard to simply ignore/skip over stuff you don;t wish to read...?

Gday...

This place is continuing to remain at the bottom of that proverbial mineshaft, unfortunately.

But when someone asks for information/advice and I can provide it I will (especially if that advice is not my opinion but the advice of knowledgeable others).

But I will DEFINITELY be selective on who I provide advice to and what that advice may be.

Cheers - stay well and travel safely - John
