Hi ,Guys ,just to say hi to you all .i`m Andy and with the wife we live in , and travel around NZ when the wife`s not working . Sold the older bus based motorhome a short while back ,and are currently awaiting the arrival from your sunny isle of our new Jayco 20ft Journey caravan . Our tug is the 2018 Mitsi Triton 4X4  (all black edition) . On this subject could i please have a bit of help from you guys as to wing mirrors ,I`ve looked at a few lately, the usual car shops super cheap, repco etc , but nothing looks very sturdy .The Clearview replacements are available here from only one distributor i can find, and are very expensive @ $1,000+ nz .  Your opinions would be appreciated .Cheers Andy .

Welcome to the gang AndyCap100, enjoy here and out in the playground.

If you go to the thick blue line above and sign in to forum then type Tow mirrors in the search bar there is heaps of info for you to read.

Quickly though, I have Clear View's on my Collie and would never leave home without them. Um, I can't, they are fixed biggrin

They are the best thing to tow with and even when not towing the vision is second to none. Yes they are costly but now having them for 4 years I would never be without them. Worth every cent.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

G'day AndyCap100 and welcome to the forum.  Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit. We use clip on mirrors but still working at the moment so not travelling as much as we would like.  Only problem really is they do vibrate and with the longer distance form the mirror anchor point the view isn't always crystal clear, although you can tell whats happening.

Welcome to the forum, AndyCap100

Dougwe above, has given you some good advice, there are plenty of topics on mirrors, on this forum

I had no problem with the el cheapo strap on mirrors from supercheap

I did a lap, in a car and caravan using these cheap mirrors
I usually sat on about 95 KPH
The mirrors were then about eight years old, (had been in storage for five years, inside the caravan), and one rubber strap perished and broke
I kept the mirror secured, by tightly wrapping electrical tape, where the rubber strap had been

Hi ,thanks for the advice all ,and i`ve sat and read everything i can that has been posted on this subject .. Will buy a cheaper strap on set to start with to see how it goes .On our previous motorhome i had reverse camera and several real big mirrors which was perfect . .Saw our local Jayco man yesterday at there yard and he said don`t bother with any as i`m having a reversing camera fitted anyway ,but after putting the ute in front of a caravan at the yard i`d still prefer something .Our Caravan still 5 weeks away from delivery but trying to get some stuff sorted before so we are free to get away soon as poss .Allways treated my driving in a proffesional manner and i ain`t stoping now .In NZ you definately have to drive as if everyone else is out to kill you .lol . Cheers Andy .

Gday Andy welcome to the forum we hope you enjoy your new van when it arrives, with regard to mirrors I use Ora mirrors that strap on to car mirror and find them good I also have a camera on the back of the van and find it to be excellent.
