A deaf couple check into a hotel very late at night and, after moving into their assigned room, they fall straight into bed.
In the middle of the night, the woman has a headache so she goes to the bathroom for aspirin. But after struggling to find any she remembers she left them in the car and, afraid to go out alone, she wakes up her husband and asks him to retrieve it.
The very groggy husband puts on his robe and makes his way wearily outside. He grabs the bottle of aspirin and gets ready to go back to the room when he realises he can't remember which room was his.
After thinking for a while he opens the car again and begins to honk the horn several times. Within a minute all of the hotel's windows light up except for one.
So he makes for the room with the dark window.
