First Trip to Red Centre

Hi All,

We [my Darling and I] are planning our first trip to the Red Centre July Aug 2018. Broken down 2wks to Darwin [Wollongong to Bourke onto Darwin],2wks in around Darwin and 2wks to get down to Adelaide and then home. We have committments at home so only have 7weeks. All advice would be gratefully accepted. I have asked this question recently with only 2 responses of encouragement. Maybe I posted in wrong place. Thank you for any help provided. We will be driving a Pajero with a New Age Manta Ray behind. Bitumen and not to rough a gravel please.

Welcome to the gang The General, enjoy here and out in the playground.

After checking where you asked before I think you might do better now as it is in your own post and not hidded in someone elses. That said, if no result here as not many visit this section of the forum, pop a question into the 'General' section. Grab a copy of 'Wiki Camps' and attach to you mobile phone if you haven't already got it. It will get you around this great playground with heaps of places to prop a night or longer. "camps Australia Wide' is also a good book to get hold off, same reason. There is also a Caravan Park version.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

G'day The General and welcome to the forum.  Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit. Best advice may be don't be dictated to by a schedule and be flexible!  Do you have to get to Darwin?, Red Centre? or are they just a target?  If your enjoying somewhere and want to stay an extra day or so can you?  Rushing to fill a schedule can sometimes ruin a great holiday.

Please send cheque for $0.02 to .... biggrinbiggrin

Unfortunately not a full on Nomad. Just got grey hair, caravan and a wander lust. Have to be home as per time frame. Will probably revisit at a later date with more time. Interested in places to stay, reasonably easy accessible POI's. All info gratefully accepted.

Thanks Woody n Sue, I have put it in general section. Have to say I am disappointed. Would have thought more people might respond with some information for an innocent out on the road. Oh well still time before we set out. COME ON all you nice people share your knowledge. Remember SHARING is CARING The General
