Roadhouse communities fear lack of Eyre Highway ambulance service will cost lives,,,,

Communities along a remote 700 kilometre stretch of the only sealed road linking two Australian states are praying there won't be any major crashes in the area, because the closest ambulance is a very long way away.

Take care out there People !!!

One wonders what happened back when there was no service. Lack of enough volunteers is every where. 3weeks ago I had a heart attack here at Yorketown SA, wife drove me to hospital. Next day to be flown to Adelaide, due to no volunteers an ambulance had to come from Wallaroo (1.5Hrs away) to ferry me from hospital to the aircraft. Then it had to return to Wallaroo. I guess I was lucky as 6 Stents later im on the mend now.

Sheesh all the best . Getting over the first scare .. Glade you your back . Yep while they hand out money to overseas and young who donāt want to work . The rest of us who have supported this country are just hanging in there . If we run our businesses like this weād be closed down !!

With more & more elderly retirees traveling to remote areas of our country it's inevitable that medical services may not cope.

Best to stay at home in suburbia if a quick medical response is a priority.

Glad you're on the mend DeBe. thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

I think that the bottom line is to take care while we are travelling away from the citiy areas

Unfortunately it is a fact of life on the Nullarbor, that many of the workers are only there for a short time, and with no one trained as a volunteer ambulance driver, then the ambulance is removed, to be used elsewhere

I suppose this is another reason why we should support the small servos on the Nullarbor
