Water pump noise

Our water pump was seriously noisy, followed the forum pages looking for answers, extra rubber under the pump, soft hoses. No real luck.

Had a small block of good quality sponge rubber in my hand when Cheese and Kisses was using the pump, guess what. The pump noise was some what quieter after placing the sponge under the pump, into the garage found some water pipe rubber insulation and placed that over the water pipes. The rubber hose and sponge block has taken out the druming of the pump.

We now have a seriously no noise water pump, it is so good.

Maybe it is a Jayco thing doing something right but I seriously can barely hear the pump in our silverline when it is running even standing 3 feet from it.

I prefer to hear the pump, it will probably give me some warning when it is getting on it's last legs.nod.gif Also if it continues to run letting me know some air in the hoses.nod.gif

Yep to above . Strange how some hate noise . Lol I donât mind it also . You know itâs working. When water is low it changes a little . What I hate is hearing it switch on through the night withâ taps off â !! Lol Interfering big time with sleep !! Hey as long as it WORKS !!

Yep, this is a case where noise is good, have had a couple of instances over the years when the filter bowl has loosened up and the system begins sucking air, taps begin spitting air and water and the pump continues to run after turning the tap of, quick tighten of the bowl problem solved.smile

Twice in 21 years we have had a fitting work loose at the kitchen sink on our yacht whilst sailing & because we were all out of the cabin didn't hear the pump empty 400lt from the main fresh water tank into the bilges cry -  we still don't always remember to turn the pump off when not needed  in the yacht or campervan - slow learners smile

Yep, turning the pump off while on the move is certainly a good idea David, we remember most of the time, simply cant hear the pump ticking away over the road noise etc.
