Anderson Weight Distribution & Sway Hitch - but what coupling to use?

You may be able to use a D035 hitch or an Ezy Hitch as they do not have the lift up handle that the ball coupling has and is a bit lower than the standard ball coupling.
You may want to get the actual dimensions prior to buying a new hitch and check with the Andersen people regarding using their equipment with either hitch.

Sorry fellas, both the DO35 & Easy hitch both use a type of pin to connect onto and I forgot to mention I have the 2" spare wheel lift kit fitted. I need a coupling that will fit onto a standard size 50mm ball as the Andersen WD & Sway Hitch has the 50 mm ball /drop shank incorporated as part of the design of the WD/sway control setup. The set up of the van is fairly high when level off the ground thats why I was looking at the AL-kO off road coupling unless someone can suggest another type of similar coupling that hopefully may be a bit cheaper.

Hm! I try not to be a naysayer, BUT I witnessed a really good rig last September, 12 mths old, strong as an ox type set up with 6 x 2 inch RHS chassis rails right through from hitch to rear with an Anderson set up.

It did really look the goods, how ever, on close inspection, the way the set up uses forces to clamp onto the RHS chassis rail was actually deforming the RHS - that is crushing it! 1st signs were that the vertical walls of the 6" x 2" RHS were deforming inwards by about 3 - 4 mm (sorry about mixture of imperial & metric) and so I made a mental note that whilst it is a "whizz banger" of a system, I would like to ensure that a localised solid fill of the RHS would be a good (but heavy) prevention of this, should I go this way in future.

Really just an observation here, but feel it should be passed on.

I have a pajero and solved the problem with a Hyland Hitch. Not only does it allow you to open the rear door it is an off road hitch and I think it makes the van ride a lot better
