How's The Big Wet

Wondering how you are all getting on at Greens atm? I would think there is a lot of slip. sliding going on over there. Hope you have all the supplies you need & you stay as dry as you can.

'Snap' - I just came online to ask the exact question of our friends at Greens Lake. I do hope all is well.

All good so far but heavy rain and strong wind started at 7am today and continued most of the day. Been calm and no rain apart from a drizzle since 4pm (so far) but map not looking good. Tracks around the place are all mud so no one is going anywhere just yet. I have enough food and water for a week so no problem. The three of us near the ramp are dry, so all good.

There was about 30 vans here last night and only 8 as we speak.

One just turned up and said they were at Aysons reserve but were evacuated so came here and are up the top of the ramp area.

Tomorrow, Saturday is another day with bad forecast so time will tell.

Much the same here in Echuca. Have been camped at Rotary Park. Were told yesterday to move up the top so we are all camped around the main buildings with heavy rain, wind blowing and thunder and lightening going over.
Now all my doctor app have finished supposed to have left for Geelong.
Not hitting the road till this os over.

Looking around this morning all look as though survived a night of rain and wind. The tracks around the place are very muddy indeed. Looking at the ramp from the top and to the left the track along the lake, well, is a lake itself. There is a little bit of grass between that and the actaul lake and is now an Island. To the right of the lake the track is very muddy and those, including me are here until it dries out really. That said I could get out by reversing to the ramp but hey, why get out? All good with me.

As we speak, there is a SW wind but no rain. YET! It's out there though.

I have some nice pickled pork cooking as we speak. YUM.

Pleased to read that you are not treading water. We have had over 4" of rain over here but no floods as yet. I guess the water has to go somewhere, so the rivers will be rising over the next few days. I hope you remain safe & as dry as possible.

Hi Mike, due to being 'van'bound for a couple of days No pics of the 'track' lake sorry at it's, well, best. I managed to get these pics early this morning but due to no rain over night and moderate winds it has dried out some but you can see what i was saying about the tracks though.

Echuca received 123 mm of rain over this period, breaking a 159 year record.
Going through the road closure list for Vic there's hardly any area untouched.
Don't forget just 15cm of water can float your boat, sorry I mean a small car.

Thank Doug. I can certainly see how slippery it would be. Glad I was not there this week and needing to get out...

keep safe...

All good in the West. We have had over 4" nothing compared to the 6" we got in 2011.
