I am wondering how far from the town is Green Lakes and can you walk to town centre for shopping?

 No, you cannot walk to town. Elmore is around 10-15 mins drive - Rochester is around 20-25 mins and Stanhope is around 20-25 mins drive. There is a small store about 3min drive from Greens Lake. (depending on how fast you drive of course smile)

Hi Helen, Mike has given you the information for GreenS Lake, Corop. It is on the Midland Hwy and about 50km West of Shepparton.

May I add that Kyabram is 35 mins away as well, a good town with good shops.

The "Small' store is 7km...2km to Midland hwy from lake then 5 km down that road.
