Well done DD, I am sure the police in attendance were glad they got there BEFORE there was a different result.
Apart from the stress and other effects on the victims family and friends these police officers also suffer from these unfortunate incidents, sometimes in silence, with the cumulative effects from multiple incidents of a similar type.
Sandsmere also has a very valid point about who may first come across the result of this fellows suicide. The discovery of a body in this situation may have a long term negative effect on the mental health of anyone.
I did actually glean two reasonable pieces of advice from Macka's posts. The first one goes without saying "Ignore Me" The second is his description of, after consideration of opiate consumption he may tie an anchor around himself go out to sea and jump overboard. At least doing this may illiminate any other member of the public finding his body thus ensuring that no one has to suffer the find.
I hope and trust Macka that prior to your departure to sea you at least allow your family and friends to pay their last respects.
