Errol & Sue here from Mukinbudin in sunny W.A. in the Heart of the West Australian Wheatbelt, and about to do our tour around this great country, for the first time, we have recently purchased a 23ft Boroma Van kinda old but not as old as me??? when we purchased, we were first time Buyers, and now that I have the van at home and preparing for the journey, expecting to leave mid to late March, I cannot find the compliance plate, so I put to you in the Forum Pages is it mandatory that this vehicle has one?? I have the Serial # and the weights on the Licence papers, so would like to know if any of you out there can offer some advise, I, We would be most grateful Travel Safe
I was in a similar situation a few years ago when I had to relicence a 1978 model Millard and was told by Qld Transport that I could replace the compliance plate myself with a Trailer Compliance Plate that could be bought over the counter at any licensing centre. They did emphasise that the information had to match those on the registration papers.
So I got one and engraved the details with a little battery powered engraver that I picked up in a hardware store. Attached it to the van then had the roadworthy done, compliance plate was checked against the old rego papers and there was no questions asked by the examiner. Result = Passed.

Compliance plate is normally in the boot (front or tunnel) or on the A Frame.
Some Boromas had problems with breaking A frames, so I wonder if your van has the original A frame. It may have been replaced and if so the compliance plate might not have been attached to the new A frame.
I believe there is a Boroma Owners Group ( http://www.boroma.net/ )
