Better add me on to the list then too. Just imagine, a son?, his wife, their 3 kids, visiting for a cuppa, that's a $50.00 fee! Highway robbery.
Happy New Year to all.
Cheers, John.
John it would only be $20 according to BIG4 Rollingstone Beach Front Resort website $15 a family (2 Adults + 2 kids), $10 adult and $5 child. Visitors are 9 am-5 pm. I'd say though if one of the kids was 16+ then the greedy custards would charge the Adult rate for the extra so would be $25.
BIG4 Rollingstone Beach Front Resort claim the first hour is free, BUT you'd have to pay first to enter if you don't go over the 1st hour they'll refund. Wonder how many one hour visits they would allow in one day???

OK here's another angle. Me and Wifey are in this particular C/van P/K, and our Son Daughter in law and 2 kids call in for lunch and a few drinks to fill the arvo in. Management call in and say this will cost you X amount. My son says go take a long jump, and I say ditto. What happens next? I am paid up for the next 5 days and my son says, "can I have a beer with my lunch Mum". I bet there are a few different suggestions to what happens next.

That makes it cheaper than taking the family to the public swimming baths so really it's a bargain.
Many things in life nowdays are user pays. At some of the high end caravan parks you are paying $50-$60 per night for a powered site and for that you want to get your value.
How would you feel if suddenly a group of visitors drop in and use the facilities you have paid to use. If people do not like the idea of visitor fees, why not visit with your friends at a venue outside the park?
I agree with Aussie Paul that the best way is to vote with your feet. If you arrive at a park to find it has visitor fees, and you disagree with it, tell that that, then move on to another park.
"Just another p-ss weak money grab by a mob of parasites what else is new..."
I just find the above extremely broad comment insulting. Vote with your feet, I do.

Hewy54, If you are going to charge to use the toilet, charge at the toilet, not the front gate. 6 visitors and 1 uses the dunny and 6 pays with your way. It doesn't matter how you say it, it still reads GREED.

I am against this practice, BUT emotional words like "mob of parasites" IMHOare insulting to many fine business operators.
To be charitable, I would have thought that this was aimed at perhaps, locals who were using Caravan Park facilities such as swimming pools, jumping castles and the like.
Perhaps also Free campers who wanted to use the facilities, although locks on the amenities block is a suitable deterrent but a daily charge for facility access might be acceptable to them.
Then an acceptable offer to paying campers might be free visitor passes.
As I said in a previous post, we have had lots of visitors who have not been asked to pay & I reckon that it would be very hard to police in most parks where it is just a matter of parking outside & walking in. All us old farts look the same whether staying or visiting.

WE recently stayed in a caravan park on Bribie Island, who quite clearly state at the entrance of the park that visitors may be asked to pay to visit. We had my sister and husband visit, I advised the office they would be coming, they said not to worry, the fee only relates to when the park is busy.
Visitors arrive, and before leaving husband (who is 90+) went to use the amenities. He had a fall, no damage done except a graze on his elbow. Later he said, he should have sued them for having a step outside the amenities. The step was clearly painted with a yellow strip.
If the park had charged them to visit, they might have had some comeback as to public liability etc, but not sure what the situation would be as they were not asked to pay.
