Yep had a few .. Thing is not to panic or brake too hard ., easy to say . It's often the first couple of seconds response that generates either out of control or in control . Atleast he sorta got his speed down . Why tyre pressure are so important . My new tyres always go on the front too ., then check the over the next few weeks as new tyres don't always seal being tubeless these days .. .
Hmmm. Not sure what I learnt from that. They said to accelerate and ?? When do you stop accelerating and start to stop.
Seems to me that rig rolled because it ended up in the spoon drain at speed with a largish ute on the back and the driver just did not retain control as an emergency happened. Asleep perhaps as the tire failed, instead of concentrating as they drove at speed on the outer lane of a highway with traffic.
Very interesting that link, I learnt something important from it.
What was that Murraman?
Aussie Paul.
Well I would have thought to not panic and let power off and not brake, ease off to side of road where possible. They are saying accelerate well in the Coaster that could be difficult as no abundance of power to speak of.
Same with hitting or about to hit a kangaroo or any animal for that matter going into a panic and swerving can cost you and maybe others their life, I have been there and done that and just keep going straight ahead over the top if necessary, which I did.
" instead of concentrating as they drove at speed on the outer lane of a highway with traffic."
It's the inner lane of probably a USA highway. Who's saying to accelerate with a blowout on a steer tyre?
Hi diggerop
Wasn't that the point of the video and the story with it.
If you didnt answer B, your odds of dying in a RV tire disaster are exponentially high. Although driving faster seems illogical when all you want to do is stop the vehicle, experts tell us it will save your life. The Michelin Tire safety pros in the video below say that hitting the gas and accelerating quickly with confidence will help you maintain control of your RV during a high speed blowou
Yes the highway lane is probably the inside in America but the bus is overtaking the second vehicle at a high speed. So another strike against the drivers competence.
That RV rig with the SUV on the back must be around 10 tons+, so full concentration is required just as a professional HV driver. Perhaps had the cruise control on also and did not get it off fast enough. How can accelerating help this situation

Theory it takes the drive or direction off the blown wheel ?? Gives you "time" to stabilize control, then slow down ,, Rather than trying to everything at once . The weight of vehicle falls onto side of blowout. Power for a few seconds in theory prevents this .. Please don't shoot the messenger . This is what is tought at HD driving classes .,
