WHAT A GREAT SITE especially for a solo female

Welcome to the gang Marie, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Don't just hang around here in 'Solo' as there is heaps of great info in all sections of this great forum. Have a good look in 'General' and even in 'Techie' as you never know what you will find of interest.

If you have any questions just pop your question in the appropriate section to get the best response and easier to find later when things get down in the dungeon.

As Dougwe has already said, welcome to the forum, there is a lot of information available on this site

If you ask a question there will normally be someone who will come along with an answer

Although I am a married man, I sometimes travel on my own, whilst doing shortish trips, (my first lap was mostly on my own)

I therefore know of some of the trials and tribulations, of a solo traveller

I would also like to add that I have met several solo lady travellers, and they appear to be very safe in the free camps, where I had met them

I hope that you enjoy yourself in the playground

I too like detecting, havn't found the pay dirt yet but live in hope.

Lots of solo females out there having fun, met a solo lady a few weeks back -82 years young and going strong!!

Hi Marie, I too am a solo traveller & currently on my first big trip. (two weeks in). Before leaving I was quite nervous about the "solo-ness" of the whole endeavour. I've been overwhelmed with how friendly and accepting people are of my travelling alone. Fellow travellers are more than helpful and any problem I have, I just look for a friendly face and ask for advice, or come on here for advice. When I pull up in a freecamp, I always check out who's next door and say hello. That way I know I'm not sharing with a potential axe-murderer and I can sleep easy. Its wonderful that female travellers are so accepted these days and even if they're not, I'm going to do it anyway! Nice to have another solo travelling member!

Like you I enjoy looking for some gold nuggets. In the past I have been an underground miner and other things. Planning to spend time in Victoria detecting. I live in Adelaide so is about 6 -7 hours drive from here. I want one of those large yellow lumps.

I would live to do the golden triangle. Would love to detect with other like minds one day.

I used to manage the Beaufort Caravan Park & regularly had prospectors staying over
Not many missed out with some good finds amongst them

Give it another year or so and I'll be spending a lot more time camped in that area, I'd be happy to show you around.

In fact I am heading up there today for a few days but I'll be rough camped with a swag rather than a caravan.
