Free camping Tenterfield area?

Hello to all

I'm currently near Tenterfield looking for a nice area to stop for a few days or so...with mobile signal. Any suggestions please? I'm pulling a caravan with a Subaru ...so can't go too or rough or steep. Anything in a 150km radius is fine...just enjoying the area so much I want to stay longer. Also any caravan park recommendations in the region...I will be looking for laundry and shower facilities soon....before the neighbours complain...lol.

Do you have Wikicamps? That is great for local spots and is up to date.

Enjoy

Thank you for that...I'll check it out. A hot shower is rather appealing at present :)

Ah...no, I've not heard of WikiCamps before. Just looked online now and downloaded it. It looks very promising. Thank you so much for the info.

If you're heading further south, there's a good overnight spot at Deepwater behind the pub. Turn left off the highway into Cadell St, camping area is about 50m up the road on the left, have to open and close gate, though. Was well sign-posted when I was there in March.

Thank you Joe and much appreciated. I'm heading north at present but will be returning this way. Nice to have a place to stop on the way back.

Deepwater Inn is a great spot, but don't camp too near the stables, we picked up a couple of pregnant mice there.  Infestation!!

Hi BaupleNut...sorry, but I ended up staying in the park behind the Information Centre rather than Jennings Hotel...only because I stopped for a break and to get my bearingS and then was so comfortable I stayed on for three nights. It was a good stopover place. There were loos there but I didn't use them so I can't comment further.
