A Grey nomad in training

Sure, I am only 49 but i can dream can't I? My wife and I are planning on living the life when I retire. We have bought a new Navara NP300 ST to get used to driving a big ute and we are looking at 2nd hand 4WD caravans to get used to towing one.

The plan is to wait until the mortgage is paid off (about 15 years) and our dear loved dogs have departed, then we will rent out our house and go out and explore this amazing country! Of course, we could win lotto as well, in which case we will start straight away!

I was in Cairns last month for a holiday and I was very excited seeing signs for the Savannah Way to Broome. Has anyone done it? I like the idea of driving up there, across to Broome then down to Perth! We do want to go around the whole country.

We are both war veterans and have our injuries so hopefully we will be able to do this as we love the outdoors and do lots of bushwalking, in the middle of nowhere is where we are most at home and at peace.

I am enjoying this site and the stories that are told as they are giving me an idea of what we need to be ready for our adventure. Don't be scared to say G'day, I don't bite often!

Welcome to the gang DaveMcD, enjoy here and out in the playground.

49, is there such and age? I must have been so busy being a brave and doing what the chief said, without question it just missed me I reckon. I'm now the chief so get to slow down. I fitted in well biggrin

Good to read you already like the forum so keep on keeping on.
