Roads travelled.

G'day all.

Just joined the group, & would like to ask for your advice.

This time next year, me & the lovely will be doing Cape York, towing a 16 footer off road van.

Instead of coming all the way back to Cairns, to get to the Savannah, there is a road called Dixie that leaves the H/way about halfway between Coen & Laura, that follows 8 mile creek to Koolatah Air port, then across Mitchell river & joins the Burke Dev. a few K's before Dunbar Air port.

So, have any of you intrepid travellers lugged a van on this track?

If so, please let me know, 'cause if it's anything like the old telegraph track, i will steer clear of it ... my lovely is not impressed with my off road adventures lol.

Thanks all,

jimfox.

Forgot to mention : Tug, 2003 Toyota Hilux 3.4 lt V6. have no Den yet, but looking for a 16 footer with ( of course, for the lovely ) a shower & toilet.

Google Mitchell River and look at the pics.
It will depend on what the water level is like when you get there.
It is not like the Old Telegraph Track.....

Cheers,
Peter
