New Nomad with 'good news' story.

Hi this is my very first experience as a forum contributor, we are relatively new to the world of caravanning and to date have only travelled (from Geelong) up the east coast on three occasions and a 'park hop' along the Murray. Our longest trip has been to Maroochydore where we enjoyed a good break at Cotton Tree. We hope to do a lot more travelling with the Van over the coming years.

When researching to buy our Van I read a lot of forum entries that were fairly critical of several makers and for awhile wondered whether it was wise to buy a Van at all, a lot of the negative stuff did not seem to match with what we were seeing during our (very thorough) inspections of various brands.

We ended up buying an Avan 685 Infinity when this range was first released, delivery time was pretty lengthy and feedback from the factory was lacking at times however it has been  terrifically comfortable and we are pleased that we decided on this particular Van. There were some minor quality issues in the first months (expected this) however our dealer rectified these without any drama.

At the recent Caravan Show in Melbourne we saw some Avan options that were not available when we purchased the Infinity so decided to get a quote to have a new Security Door, Glass Shower Screen and a second Robe fitted. The response from Avan throughout this exercise has been first class, prompt replies to email questions, phone calls providing progress updates and the job was completed inside three weeks (with Easter in the middle).

When I thanked Avan for their efforts they stated that they were determined to improve their Customer Service outcomes and that extra resources have been introduced to achieve this. From my recent experience they are well on the way to being top class in this area.

Happy Travels, Fossil.

Welcome to the gang glnominees, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Good to hear Avan want to and are doing something about their after sales service as it was non existent a few moons back.

I remember when I got my Avan Camper, they promised the world but didn't even get a dunny size room worth of service. No return phone calls, no return emails and when I went in to see them, they just said " they build them, not fix them " and brushed me off.

My new van had problems but the after sales was second to none really.

Keep Safe on the roads.

Working in companies similar ? I find the office pics the whinges and puts your job on the bottom of the list . So it's a two way street . Try win - win when asking for up grades or repaires . Yes it's not easy ..
