Hi from the Hunter

G'day all

We are a retired couple who have done a fair bit of tent based remote area camping and exploring in a heavily modified 4wd. The 4wd was stolen and we replaced it with a lighter unmodified 4wd for the time being. We now intend to purchase second hand a heavier 4wd and an off-road style caravan. We hope to do more extensive self contained travelling in a bit more comfort but retaining the ability to get off the beaten track from time to time.

Our intention is to do the acquisition, configuration and testing this year and to set off in earnest next year.

Because we have no experience with caravans we will not be much help to fellow members but hope to draw on your experience to avoid common pitfalls. Please excuse us for lurking.

We hope to catch up with you on the road soon

Welcome to the gang Little Briney, you lurkers you, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I often wondered what that rustling was behind the bushes, I thought it might be KFC putting his pink shirt on, he will tell you otherwise though....now I know it wasn't, it was you.

Mmm, maybe he is beind the bushes on the other side of the road then smile

Keep Safe on the roads.

Welcome from us too Little Briney

I am sure I have seen your moniker somewhere else recently hmmm

take no notice of the chief of cheer (dougwe) especially when he refers to me and pink shirts.

I am thinking he has some kind of "pink" fetish

I certainly do no lurking behind bushes

I am sure you will find this a friendly place to gain lots of info to add to your list of experiences

Frank

Thanks for the welcome Doug and Frank. We look forward to learning from this forum, including the background to the pink fetish. Hopefully, we may learn enough to pass it on to others in due course.
Thanks once again.

KFC was trying to flog pink shirts a while back until some 'nice?' person told him off. So now he has a supply of them that he uses himself but tells everyone he doesn't......just say'n. biggrin

Well, we've solved the transport requirement. We bought a 2002 model 18' Supreme Territory fitted up for free camping and a 2012 model 200 series Toyota Land Cruiser VX "shopping trolley" as a tug.
The car's only accessory is a tow bar and GSL Electronics RBC-12 electric brake controller in the cab. Does anyone have an opinion of this brand and model?
Now for the joys and expense of matching the two and fitting out the tug.
All advice and opinions gratefully received.
