I won't use portable toilets, I think they are disgusting. Why would anyone want to carry their bodily wastes around with them then ad toxic chemicals before discarding - disgusting!

I've been watching this thread with interest/amusement.

Seems when we are kids bodily functions are a constant source of fascination and hilarity, then most of us mature and we find other issues more important for our adult lives, until, we hit the down hill slope, when, surprise surprise, bodily functions come to the fore again, this thread has certainly emphasised the phenomenon by running to two pages as rapidly as it has.

Will someone please pass the popcorn.biggrin

I wonder how many realise that the source material of many a stainless steel bench top in the early days of the pizza shop was a recycled urinal from a demolished pub? Uni based researcher I know uses this fact in his research on how knowledge contributes to perceptions of contamination and subsequent disgust reactions. I have seen people throw up after being told their pizza was made on a recycled urinal. What you don't know does not hurt. If the liquid disposal story at the top of the thread was not seen and assumptions made, would this discussion happen at all?

Long story possible but, I inherited my Great Great Grandmother's chamber pot. Well, it did belong to her and we assume it was used for its intended purpose at some point. English made bone china, it's still in excellent condition. It did get a good clean, just in case, and now we used it as a punch bowl at Halloween parties.

Happywanderer as we are talking about sullage points I guess that means a caravan park - not free camping. The point being bucket or portable loo, what ever floats your boat a the time, it all goes to the same place. I'm sure poo bags and holes in the ground will also disgust many here; but, different strokes!

I don't come on this forum that much, some times i try to add a little knowledge if i can.
I put a comment on earlier thinking that there was a bit of harmless banter, but no not to be.
I certainly did not take offence as probably the other person that was also named did not .
So just a few thoughts on the situation that arose.
Pomme.

 Mr Google says  ..

You'll find the locality of Sandsmere in Victoria about 370km west-northwest of Melbourne (show me). Sandsmere is about 143m above sea level. Sandsmere is one of the westernmost localities in Victoria. The nearest ocean is the Southern Ocean about 140km west-southwest of Sandsmere.

What I find interesting is pee by a healthy individual is sterile, but spit, i.e. when we clean our teeth is full of nasties. Where do we spit when we clean our teeth?

That's it Cupie. My family owned land there and I grew up living on a farm there.

Left many years ago for Queensland .

Sorry. Way OT.
