I have just ordered a pajero sport to tow our grant tourer caravan weighing 2.3 tonnes. As they only started selling in australia in december i can find no reviews which give actual towing experiences. Its a long shot but has anyone on this forum taken delivery and experienced towing with this brand new model.
G'day and welcome to the forum Allyoops I don't own a Pajero Sport and I think you will almost certainly be the first forum member with one I currently own a Pajero exceed which has to last another two tears hopefully,
I was at our local dealer the other day with a mate having a look this dealer sells Mitsubishi, Nissan and Jeep so we compared all three as well as the new Ford Everest,
our opinion was that the new Pajero Sport is so far in front of the others with what it offers especially when you consider price and the standard level of equipment on the mid range compared to the others mine will be Pajero Sport & I doubt there will be too many buying the full size Pajero,
There are a number of reviews and comparisons on line and it should not be long before some of the caravan mags do a review but would like to hear you thoughts after you test it out.

I also placed an order last week and expect delivery in a few weeks.
I will also be very interested in your thoughts once you get it.
ordered mine with tow pack, a brake controller, flat 7 pin and an anderson plug.
also a few other options.
I have predominantly had 4 wheel drives over the years, as well as a couple of vans, but this drove very well, and I am really looking forward to trying it out.
Topspark thanks for your reply.
I did find a review on towing with the new triton which could be a guide, although the triton was a six speed auto so gearing will be different. The triton drove 3500 km to alice springs and recorded about 17-18 litres per 100 km but was towing a 3 tonne van. As my van is 2.3 tonnes i am expecting a much better result and hoping for around 13-14 litres per 100km.
The vehicle i traded is a 2013 triton glx manual 5 gears which last year recorded 14-15 litres per 100 km wlile towing with a total average consumption of 14.2 litres per hundred km over a total of 8500kms travelled with a highway cruising speed of around 95 kph.
I will give actual figures when we start our next trip which is to the centre commencing at the end of April.
Hi Hylife.
We have only towed van 20 kms to auto elec so, far but will be heading from gippsland on April 28th to Alice,Darwin, Kakadu then across to the North Queensland coast before heading home.
I will post observations, fuel consumption etc as we progress but after nearly 3000 kms we love the car. The suspension seems to be well tuned, and it is the quietest suv i have ridden in with a great 8 speed auto transmission.. I will post again
Around 30th April with first update.
