Canadians needing some help and advice

Canadians needing some help

Happy New Year Everyone out there doing things in life. My wife Belinda and I are two Canadian Nomads mainly cruising sailor types. We are currently in Malaysia and will be heading to Perth Western Australia for the last week of January. The 23 rd To the 30th. To pick up some sail boat parts.

We have rented a Toyota Hilux With a slide in camper and had our hearts set on doing some bush type camping in one of the National Parks around Perth region.

But I guess we didn't think things out too well and committed ourselves to visiting on a very busy long weekend. Australia Day! Much to our dismay we have found out there are no (known to us)Wilderness Park camp sites left anywhere within a 200 km radius of Perth. Oh what to do! But call on our dear Australian hosts for some help and advice. We have heard that some times there are nice out of the way quite hiding /camping spots that are passed around or shared by word of mouth and personal contact. So, we wanted to know if any Grey Nomad traveling types know the Perth region and to the N E of Perth and might have knowledge they could share with us or give us directions to a ( their) favourite out of the way spot where we might enjoy a few nights under a big star lit Australian sky.

No dramas about it being summer in the Outback, All our Ozzie friends gave us the gears about our last visit, when we we ran the Plenty Highway from Boulia to Alice Springs in December. We would love nothing more than to once again have a nice quite peaceful place to hide for the few days we have in OZ. Hope some good folk have a few ideas or can offer some guidance As to where to go or not to go. Please email if you can help. If you don't have any ideas it's alright and thanks for listening.  in any case Can't wait to get back to Australia!

Our hearts and thoughts out to all those who are suffering from the tragic fires down south. Hope that it settles down soon.

Cheers Chris and Belinda Gladish

Hey guys - as Dougwe says - your post is not showing properly, but I could get it on the laptop by scrolling sideways a bit.

Sorry for the late reply, but been on the road with intermittent reception, so don't read everything.

Hope you found yourselves somewhere to go, and something to do, a long weekend in Oz is always a busy time, but can always find a place if you know where to go,, do you have Wikicamps? Camps Australia Wide (Issue 8 is the current one) - but maybe you would have been better putting this in the "General" or "I Digress" sections, where it would get seen by more readers.

Hope to see you back in this great country sometime in the future with a bit more time to spend - four or five days isn't a lot of time, especially in a big state like WA.
