12 weeks ago we left Toowoomba on a round trip to Central Australia ... a trip we expected to take around 8 weeks. Currently we are in McLaren Vale SA with a long way still to go. Inspired by the wonderful photos shown on this site by Desert Dweller I decided to make "birds" the focus of my camera. At the time I scarcely knew the difference between a Wagtail and a Wedge tail. We have now photographed just over 100 bird types. The journey through western Queensland and Northern Territory shows how widespread drought conditions are. These photos taken in various caravan parks show how sought after water is by our feathered friends. Thanks Desert Dweller for your inspiration and wonderful photos. Please keep them coming.
Thanks for the positive feedback. Hendo I took these shots with a Nikon p520 point and shoot and my old faithful Canon EOS 300d with a Tamron 100 - 300 zoom lens. The Canon was the first digital slr camera to sell for under $1000. It was introduced in 2003 and has travelled throughout Africa and Australia with me ever since.
Quite happy to post more photos but don't always have good internet on the road.
