2 Anderson plugs

New batch of questions coming. Picked up our new Kokoda Caravan today biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

On setting it up in the driveway, and generally ogling all the shiny new bits and pieces, I noticed that I have 2 Anderson plugs. Now I've sent an email to the dealer asking why, and no I haven't gone looking for a schematic for the van to find out (that wouldn't be any fun wink).

It has a dual battery setup, and yes it has a 3 way Thetford fridge. So I'm asking the all so knowledgeable out there "what might be the purpose of 2 Anderson plugs?" confuse

Without going into any depth for me the obvious answer would be one for connecting to the tug and charging the battery while driving with the other Anderson plug to be used for plugging in any portable solar panels.

The only reason I have marked them this way is because that is how my van is being organized in regard to Anderso plugs. Lol

I too have two. One is for charging the van batteries when mobile and the other to run the fridge when mobile. That way I can have heavier cable to them as the 7 pin plug is limited to cable size.

Actually I have 3 as one is on the back of the van for a seperate portable solar panel to connect too if ever needed. So far the panel hasn't seen the sun.

Possibly one for the fridge and one for charging the house battery.

Is the van fitted with Alko ESC (Electronic Stability Control) ?

If so it is usually powered via a separate anderson plug I believe.

Further to what Bill said, if it is for the Al-Ko ESC the colour for it is usually red. If it is you will also need a red one on the tug, the different colour Anderson plugs will only mate with connectors of the same colour.
