Pubs in the scrub

Patti and I had a lovely few hours doing the pubs in the scrub. Stopped at the Sheepyard Inn and had coffee while the donkey heated the water for our shower. Then on to Grawin Hilton for a huge lunch - fish n chips for $16. Popped in to the Club in the Scrub - a chartered club and golf course. Gravel roads but took it slow and they were OK. Anzac memorial and museum also - fairly new I think?

Nice camp at Cumborah - sealed road all the way in from Lightning Ridge, and we are told also down to Walgett.

Yes, looking forward to it. The past few pubs (Kevington & Woods Point) we were the only patrons.  Looking forward to a packed house.

Dargo - Saturday, packed with bikers, Sunday, quiet night.  Lovely meal, met the owner, who lives in Port Douglas normally.  Moved on today.

Just did the Pubs in The Scrub trip whilst staying a Lightning Ridge. What a surprise!! No indication driving up from the bitumen what is there. It's a must do. My favourite was Sheepyard Inn. The Club in the Scrub has a brand new set of loos. The Hilton had a few grey nomads parked at the back. Good well priced food (same at all 3).

Yep - the pubs in the Grawen are fantastic - good place to get some good pricing of raw opal as well, if you keep your eyes and ears open.

Thanks for that, I'll be there in a week or so and starting to sift through all of the tips I've collected from the forum over the past couple of years. Looking forward to it.
