Small win for Free Camp at Ballarat

The following is a copy of an email that I received today.
Anyone travelling thru Ballarat please utilise the facilities mentioned. I am sure that this support will go a long way to have this camp site permanent.
But!!!!! we must support Mark and the gang from CMCA. On our visit to Victoria we certainly will support the Ballarat Community.

A small win,

Mark Middleton
Ballarat, Australia

10 Sep 2015  Last night, Wednesday 9th September, Ballarat City Council resolved to continue the trial period at Pioneer Park despite the recommendation of the CEO to close the park immediately. This is a positive for the Ballarat community and we now need to encourage the RV community to utilise it.
The trial period is due to be completed in 3 months and then Council will look at all options in regards to the area.
CMCA were represented by Director Keith Moxham, wife Beth and member Grant Tillet who along with Bill Brady have been the drivers of this initiative. They should be congratulated for their determination and commitment to the project.
If you are travelling through the western Victoria region, we encourage you to stay overnight at Pioneer Park.

I will update here as I find out more.

Thanks Ballarat;  one can't help thinking that the CEO may just happen to own a caravan park.

If staying there make sure to stick to the rules, time limit, self contained etc. otherwise there will be arguments to close it down. It is currently touch and go.
If you have any suggestions re alternative sites around Ballarat speak up.
What we need is a nice place with a toilet to close down some of the arguments.
