Fridge not working on gas

Our 3 way fridge has decided to stop working on gas.  It is working on 240v here in the park, buy as we do mostly free camping I'd like to know if there is a common concern, that can be easily fixed.  Have checked and there does not appear to be any ignition spark, and also no smell of gas from the rear when the button is held in for a short time.  The stove and hws are fine.  It is a Dometic brand and for the last 2 years (from new) has been great.  As we are in Roma (Qld) there may not be a local agent.

Any suggestions I can try?

Turn off gas, remove lower vent, disconnect the gas line from the burner then remove the burner. There will be a gas jet that could be blocked. Old gas hoses to reg's can break down with small bits of rubber comming away. Also the ignition probe does burn away after a time & then is too short for the spark to jump the distance, this can be adjusted so that the probe is closer to the burner body.

Hi Countrytech

A few months back we were with good friends who had trouble with there near new second hand 2 door frig the first night away from base they tried to start it on gas we had it part and it was getting late and dark after 2 hours, gave it one more flick bingo started ran for 3 days great. Next 5 on 240 volt power,

Next we were free camping out and the frig would not have a bar of it. In the end we moved into St. George onto 240 volt power where we tried phoning a lot of towns trying to find someone to have a look at it, Around 10 am the friends headed to Toowoomba from St.George where the guy found the problem to be the piaza igniter with in the hour they were on there way again.

They were heading north trying al towns but ended up going east, there was 2 caravan repairers in Toowoomba that offered to have a look, one wss prepared to come in on Saturday. I have know way of helping you with names as friends are on the west coast and no mobile coverage. I do believe the man was good at his job.

Hope this helps. Ralph.

You say there is no spark. Don't know which model but 2 years was stated. There is (in some models) a small AA battery behind the ignition button. Push all the way in and turn and release.

Flat battery = no spark.

Have a look or Google the user manual.

John

I took the nozzle out and made sure it was clean, cleaned the ignition and adjusted (the video helped) and also cleaned the tube.  It now works, even if it takes quite a few pushes of the ignition, but very windy here today.     Thanks for all your assistance.  We can now go further west and south, instead of heading home.
