All the best for the southbound journey John, take your time as it's still chilly down here in Vic.

The  nickname  of Steptoe  came from Ric at Wuruma last year and seems to have stuck, the son was Rod rover. I couldn't believe it when one of his mates addressed me as Step in Monto earlier.

John,

Enjoyable read again. Appointments are a real pain, have to do them. We've had so many lately, apart from minding grand kids and looking after elderly friend I'm starting to wonder if the caravan will ever leave the carport.

Good reading John, on the move again eh, got everything done medical & mechanical, that's what I have to do around April every year also. I'm just near Esperance, didn't intend to be this far but just nothing suitable on the roadside because of the grain paddocks everywhere & fenced off. Trying, tyring trying to slow down before I head east across the Plain.

Cheers

Mike

Mike, heaps to see and do over there, check out the get together section on this forum, meet up just above Perth first weekend in October. Too cold over East, specially down south, at the moment. Might see you, we are headed that way soon.

Hi Jules, I want to be back on the north coast NSW by October hopefully, I done all the South east of WA a few years back so decided to skip it this time. The weather couldn't be any worse than here at the moment, I haven't sat in my chair outside for over a fortnight, maybe once, haven't been in shorts for the same period either, hate having to put on so many clothes, so wet & cold. Will head east from Norseman within a week & I will go via Port Lincoln that I missed last time.

C ya somewhere

Thanks John, that's made my day, good to see someone's enjoying it, I recon I weigh twice my weight with slippers, socks, Trackies, T/Shirt, flannel shirt & big wooly jumper. I'm walking around like one of those Astronauts. Took one look out the door this morning, nope, not going out there today. Should have stayed above that 26th. parallel, that's when it all changed.

Catch ya

Mike

Hi John

A thing to do when cooking calamari is soak it in milk for 20 mins or so. This was told to me over 40 years ago by an old Italian fisherman (I know everyone has a story of an old Italian fisherman, but this is true) when I worked at the Qld Fish Board. Something about the enzymes in milk. Of course don't overcook it.

Cheers,

John

Rod, I thnk that it was the dual patch lead that caused the problem, my new one is still ok.

As far as the heater I hven't used it for ages, good to have it in case.

We plan to go to Kogan Memorial Hall Thursday for a few days then on to Caliguel Lagoon maybe for a week.

If you are near it would be good to catch up.

Jules the very same one but you don't have the dual patch lead.

John
