Newbie

Hi all,

Hubby and I are new to caravaning (sort of)! We have both owned Caravans in previous lives and he has done some traveling in his I did little in mine.

We have finally got into Pre Retirement and are looking forward to having some fun times in our 'New to us" Jayco Sterling.

First trip is this weekend from Adelaide to Mildura for a few days of r and r. Any tips on how to stow things for travel would be greatly appreciated.

We bought some non slip matting for a few cupboards and drawers in the kitchen but apart from that I am really not sure if I am doing it right.

TIA

Welcome to the gang Suzi Q, enjoy here and out in the playground. Love your music by the way biggrin

Keep most heavy stuff above axles or close to if possible and if laying plates and bowls flat put some of that non slip matt between each one. I also wrap not slip around my glasse as I pefer glass to plastic when I drink. I also have china mugs for same reason but plates and bowles are malamine to assist with keeping weight down.

Can I suggest the Apex CVP down on the VIC side of the river, nice place with a view of the river and the "Melbourne" padel steammer turning around. Nice little cruise on that too. The RSL do a nice meal if looking to eat out at some stage.

Enjoy your time away and Keep Safe out there.

G'day SusieQ welcome to the forum you will meet some great people on the forum and we look forward to your participation, we have collected a range of stubble holders we have cut a slot part way down some and use them for cups and the others are for our glasses, have never broken or chipped one yet.

There is a great bakery in Mildura on a corner that makes a fantastic fruit loaf using oranges tastes awesome toasted.

Thank You all for your welcome and your advice. I took most onboard and had a blast. I didn't want to come home. Singing round the campfire wasn't one of the things i did Woody N Sue but we did sit by a fire pit most nights. Thank You all again so much. I would highly recommend the Buronga Riverside caravan park to anyone. Absolutely awesome owners, cleanest of cleanest facilities and right on the river. If you ask they will bring you a fire pit and a bag of wood for $5 and the wood burns most of the night. Just lovely.

I have stayed at Buronga Riverside Caravan Park many times, my friends were the previous owners. The moved into a park that needed a lot of work, and improved it immensely. The new owners have done a fantastic job following through with some of the things my friends wanted to do, but felt too old to go further there.

Welcome to the forum, enjoy joining in, learning and sharing information.
