My first Trip

Greetings, your opinions please.

I've decided to do a test run before venturing out full time and want to follow the same route as I did when on a High School School Excursion dare I say, 45 years ago.  Imagine, 2 buses pulling 2 trailers, 3 drivers, 2 teachers and 80 girls aged 12 to 16.  Pitching and putting down tents and cooking  3 meals a day was totally organised and everyone helped happily, a fantastic adventure.

We camped out every night except for one night where we stayed in a pub pub and another in the change rooms at Dubbo Swimming pool, the cv park lost the booking, and the local police man cut the gate chain with bolt cutters at 1am to let us in, that was the only caravan park we would have stayed in, the rest was free camping.  14 blissful nights away from our parents.

From memory:   Sydney >  Mildura >  Port Augusta > Iron Knob > Whyalla > Hawker > Marree > back down > Peterborough > Broken Hill > Wilcannia > Cobar > Dubbo > Wellington > Bathurst then GWH to home in Sydney.

I have one month and don't necessarily need to stay at the same towns, I thought I would give the Port Augusta/Whyalla loop a miss.  I hope to leave the 2nd week of October.

Thank you and I will appreciate your thoughts.

Cheers,

Naomi.

Being an ex coach driver I have no need to imagine your scenario Naomi. Many school trips done by this little black duck and I tell you that for free.

Don't think too much about how you will do it, just do it. Get out there and enjoy every minute but keep safe doing it.

Mmmm, what is it confuse Ah yes, playing in this great playground.

Sounds like a plan, but just be ready to change plan if circumstances, good fortune, or the call of the road require....I have found that making plans 'set in concrete' is a waste of time, there's always something interesting that comes up while you are out there....
