Yep, Aldi do have some good specials, but always check eBay first. I bought one of these 3 years ago and use it all the time... I haven't even changed the battery yet smile

Wow - the eBay one is about half the price of the Aldi one.

However, note the restrictions on where that particular seller will deliver it to - almost nowhere outside of the capital cities.

Not even capital cities; Excludes: Adelaide Metro, Brisbane Metro, Melbourne Metro, Northern Territory, NSW Regional, Perth Metro, QLD Far North, QLD Regional, QLD South East, SA Regional, Sydney Metro, Tasmania, VIC Regional, WA Regional, WA Remote. (Basically I think that's all Australia)

Didn't notice that, I just put up the cheapest one I saw.

Here's one that posts anywhere in OZ and it's only 80 cents more biggrin

You might even find a cheaper one if you want to scrounge... just search for 'laser thermometer' and you'll get dozens of hits.

The beauty of Aldi is you can return it no questions asked 12 months warranty?

In was in the same boat and bought the $13.99 one after Paypal returned the $9.60. That is the first time I have had any problems with Ebay purchases. Be handy to check wheel bearings etc, AND to make sure the coffee machine is up to scratch!!!biggrin

I would be interested in having a look at the drill bit sharpener but I can't find it online Lance. Any chance you could take another pic to the left please?

Don't waste your time or money on drill bit sharpeners. None work to any degree of satisfaction, put the money towards buying better quality drill bits.

Just for fun most people think they need a quarter inch hole, in fact they need a quarter inch drill bit.smile

 Ditto from me.

My son has an industrial grade one.

I just take my box of drills over to him & he does them all for me.  Won't trust an old fart with his good stuff.  Which suits me fine.

My Son in Law had an old tradesman (about my age I suppose) in his last factory who would do them by eye in a wheel.  Just a couple of deft twists of the wrist.   SIL's moved on to other employment so that option is no longer available.

In another life I used to teach trainees how to sharpen drills but my eyes & grindstone are not up to it anymore & I no longer have a drill angle gauge anyway.

I too ordered one of those 'no show' thermometers & got my money back.

I might have another go at one of the $10.99 ones that Ondabeach mentioned.

I want one to check wheel bearings, Air Con temps at home & in the van, might try it on the BBQ too.  Be interesting to see how hot my propane fuel canisters get.
