Tassie Quick Trip

Hi Guys and Gals, An exciting time for me i built a sort of motor home maybe 10 years ago and since then have travelled to every state in Australia many times but always accompanied by the Ankle Biters it has been very enjoyable, met a lot of people and seen a lot of things, now kids have grown up and released the noose i still have a couple of weeks holiday left so i quickly booked a SINGLE fare on the Spirit of Tasmania 3/6/15  leaving 730pm. Plans Thursday Morning are to go to Launceston spend the next day there then travel to Penguin on the North coast about 4 days there looking forward to meeting fellow travellers on the road and in quiet country pubs having a chat and exchanging stories of places and travel experiences over a beer or camp, if you are in Tasmania in that time and you see a Toyota Dyna with a Viscount Caravan mounted and fixed on the back resembleming a home brew Motor home please give me a hoy! My vehicle is very noticeable on the road and proudly bears the name " LOSERBAGO"

Looking forward to meeting some more fellow travellers and hearing about travel tales over a beer

Andy

Welcome to the gang Andy, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I am not sure of your time frame Andy but if you have never been to Tassie, a must is Port Arthur and Gordon River Cruise.

There is a nice bakery in the main street at Penguin that have yummy rolls etc and plenty of naughty niceties as well.

Enjoy, and keep safe.

Hello Andy, as a ex Tassie I go back every 2 yrs, love the laid back feeling in Tassie. Will be a bit cold. The Gordon river in Strahan is a must. Stanley is nice, I used to run up the Stanley Nut when I was a kid. Enjoy Andy, Patty.

You are right Doug. Good bakery in Penguin. Andy. We have been down to Tassie twice for a month each time and still have to go back. So much to see. If you ever get down south, the Bruny Island boat ride down the coast is awesome. Plus Bay of Fires east coast. Enjoy.

I am a bit excited because NO KIDS riding Solo also for a Few years I have been looking at retiring in Tassie and I certainly like that North Coast like around Penguin, I have a Daughter in Launceston which I will visit for 2 days then off to Penguin for the rest of the time and do a thorough reconnaissance mission of the town bleeding the brains of the locals over a beer or two to get the good oil about Penguin. So if anybody is around Penguin from about 5th June to 12th June please let me know

All the Best Andy

Also Farm Stay at Norwood, no facilities except water, $10.00 a night .See attachment. It maybe closed in June thru October, but give them a call to check.
