Van Insurance

Hi Travellers. My name is Gordon and my wife is Vicki and we have had our van for 2 years, but only travel part-time. I have just received my renewal notice for the van insurance (CIL) and would like to know others experience with them as I am considering changing because I find them very expensive. I know that they are all good until you make a claim and that's when you find the good from the not so good. Any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers G&V

Welcome to the gang Gordon and Vicki, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I use the "General" Insurance for everything offered by my "Health Fund". They have beat everyone else by far. I find they really look after me.

Good luck and keep safe.

Hi Gordon&Vicky.

First off a big welcome.

I have been using RACQ for our caravan and only have last month the need to renew and to my surprise from last year an added 84 cents difference.

Big deal you might say, well after last November hail storm in Brisbane RACQ paid out the $10500 repair bill for the damage to the caravan.

The whole ordeal was handle very professionally, I was warned there would be a delay in getting the side panelling as the manufacture was not returning until the end of January. After all this with a couple of small delays the caravan was returned to me at the end of February. I may add a very neat job done along with some extra preventive maintenance on the wood framing, could not be happier.

We would not of been surprised if there had been a substantial increase but as you can see the complete opposite.

Hope this helps, private message me if more details are needed. Ralph.
