Folks it is with a heavy heart that I post the following from Gary Kelly's Aussie Odyssey site. RIP Friend
April 27, 2015. TX Greg here. I received the news this morning from Anna that Gary did pass away weekend before last and we're still trying to gather more info. I've just been sitting here in front of the comp crying all day lost for words. Anna helped with a few...
"And write a nice message to him from everyone about all the years we've got to spend with him and he has become a part of our families. Then end with its not over yet Gary now you can see all of Australia with the best view in the house! Can't wait to catch up with you one day. We will all see him again one day. He is finally at peace and gets to spy on everyone!"
Thanks Copper1....Gary helped me a few times with advice given freely and I know he was a great bloke. I will miss him on the forum and wish I'd known him personally.
I am very sadden by this loss, a man who I had not met in person but felt that the day we did meet would be as though I had known him for some time, his wit and look on life was everything.
RIP, my friend Gary....I will never forget how excited you were to receive your 'lucky' gold nugget...only wish it had helped you...how you wanted to get away in PJ your van and go gold detecting with me...you will be there in spirit mate..round the camp fire like you wanted to do....bet you would have told the most outrageous jokes too....so sad.....Hoo Roo mate.

Never met Gary but along with everyone on here.
Was hoping he would be back on deck again.
I am so sad that he didn't get to fulfil his dream of getting Pj on the road.
I hope wherever you are Gary that you health is restored and that you have the best set of wheels ever.
Hope you are enjoying some great Happy Hours too
RIP Gary. You will be missed by one and all
Terrible, terrible news. I would just like to add my condolences to Gary’s family. Although I never met him personally, I always loved Gary’s sense of humour, his lovely turn of phrase, and his unfailingly positive attitude. He will be missed on this forum and far beyond. RIP Gary Kelly.
Oh dear! I am so sad to hear about Gary. I had been hoping to hear he was recovering and making his plans to go on the road with PJ.
He was such an interesting and witty man, I will miss his comments.
I am so sad to hear this news. I was really hoping that he and PJ would be able to hit the road together and have many happy adventures.
I have been a fan of Gary from way back when he worked at radio 2GO in Gosford NSW. He was a real character, full of fun, smart and an all round nice bloke.
RIP Gary....never met the man, but having been a long time follower of his wit and good humour was always my intention to meet him one day. Truly a loss to us all.......
George
Never met Gary, but felt I had known him for a long time ,will miss his photos and humour....R.I.P. Peter
As first time member and trainee grey nomad I had been following these pages/forums and came across the various characters and their Blogs via these pages and Gary Kelly stands out as one hell of a bloke. I had been so looking forward to him hitting the road in the PJ and regaling us with tall tales and true, he will be sorely missed by all in Grey Nomad Land.
Terrible news. Only wished we could have met at some point. We might have unknowingly shared a lift or passed each other by in the foyer as it appears we were both working in the 2GB building in Sydney in the 70's, but for different companies. Will miss his charm, wit and positive outlook.
Joe
