Newbies from Newcastle.

Hi guys, this is our first post, but have been reading with much interest, what a wealth of knowledge & experience, which you can't beat. Just a  quick question, we have diesel Sante Fe, 6 speed auto, 17ft Jayco Poptop, do I leave it in D mode when towing or 5th gear, does a bit of hunting up/down gears between 5th & 6th, only had this set up  for 18 months or so. Van weighs approx. 1275 kg unladen.

Any help much appreciated

Cheers  Bruce

Welcome to the hang bruce judy, enjoy here and out in the playground.

As to your question I see no reason not to leave in D for drive. I tow a 2700kg van with a 4x4 2.8lt Deisel twin cab ute Colorado and have it in D for drive most of the time. However a couple of times going up hill I have sliped it into manual to take control myself.

Whether you leave in D or control yourself enjoy the playground in your toy and keep safe.

Thanks for the info. I did check, manual said leave it in "D", but does a bit of hunting between 5th/6th gear on slight gradients,@ approx. 95 to 100 kph.

thanks again for the welcome.
