Just starting out

Hi all,

Thought we should introduce ourselves, Lynne and John from Melton, Vic and we have just finished doing our first free camp trip in our new caravan.

We would have gone earlier but I stupidly left the caravan hand brake on and cooked the front brakes. Bellarine Caravans were terrific and replaced them and only charges $120  for the labour.

We did not venture too far but stayed at Aysens Camp reserve near Elmore. This was recommended by a 'friend' who we met whilst walking our dog and he has given us a lot of good advice.

Whilst at the camp site we talked to some lovely people, from Queensland, Bendigo and a couple permanently on the road. All gave great stories and advice for improvements to our rig. So I have been busy putting up extra towel racks, additional battery, bucket to trap water off the awning and washing line on the awning.

At present looking at the trailer mate to replace the jockey wheel and diesel heating. Need a good budget.

Anyway looking forward to meeting plenty of you people on the road.

Cheers

Welcome to the gang Lynne and John, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Gee, you were so close yet so far. If you had have travelled about 20km further East from Aysons you would have been at one of THE best places to test all the gear out and also meet many GN members from this great Forum as we are here at Greens Lake. Maybe next time you could give this great lake a try. Be prepared to stay longer than you planned though cos it grabs ya and won't let go.

Whatever you do or wherever you go just enjoy.

Hi Lynne and John ,welcome to the forum. You were very lucky, that little experience could have cost you a lot more than $120.

By having those experiences  is the way that we learn, and also by talking to other like minded people.

Stay safe.

Cheers,

Blues man.
