We are heading to Loxton again this Friday to use the second 5 days of our travel auction and planning spending 5 nights free camping. I have fitted the 300 watt inverter for my CPAP machine and a small ceiling fan above the bed, and decided to empty both tanks that were only 1/4 full. In another thread I showed the kinked breather hose. Tomorrow I plan to fill one tank and see what happens as far as the tanks self leveling. This is a pic of a tap in plumbing system that I have not yet found out how it works, and what hoses do what!!! Any helpers out there???
Wiring and plumbing diagrams from Jayco seem to not exist!!!!
My Jayco caravan also has 2 water tanks and that water valve is used to change over to the other tank when the first one becomes empty. The knob usally sits at 9 to 3 and you will run off the first tank. When that tank becomes empty change over that knob 180 degrees and you good to run from your second tank.
Pic looks like the outlet set up that goes to the pump , as explained before the value is able to be switched to empty one tank at a time. This want level the tanks , this is most probably done via the inlet hoses. Regards gitsho

i think that you may have worked it out since you posted your question but in case you haven't here goes
with the pointer at 12 oclock = both tanks off
3 " " = front tank only
6 " " = both tanks on
9 " " = rear tank only
Im not sure about the equalizing of the tanks when filling but they seem to when drawing from both tanks.
when filling my tanks to get the maximum in I turn both tanks off so as I don't get a false reading in case there is some DE cantering from one tank to the other.
I also don't travel with both tanks turned on so as I don't lose all my water should one tank get damaged and I also travel with both tanks full so as to lower the v
vans centre of gravity

Try telephoning the technical support section in Jayco. I have found them to be very helpful. Give them the chassis number of your caravan to get specific details. My chassis number is welded to the top of the drawbar near the hitch.
I suggest you replace the clear (cheap and nasty) water hoses I see on your photo with the correct potable water (food grade) hose. Otherwise your hoses will eventually get mouldy. Air + light + water = mould.
I also suggest you replace the one tap (presumably a three way tap) with two separate taps so that each water tank can be isolated. A leak or other accident in your current setup means both tanks will be emptied.

Thanks Karlene, we are away at the moment so giving lots of thought to the van systems. I was thinking of contacting Jayco factory as the dealers don't seem to know much about the systems. Nice to hear they are helpful. Agree re the clear tubing, and I was thinking about a separate tap for each tank. Great having Cindy's forum for the continuing learning process.

I failed to tell you that I have a jayco sterling outback and the water tank selection etc is the same as yours, its a simple system once you know it ,
yep that's it mate a bit hard to see being all black I put a dob of pink paint on mine so as I could see a at a glance where it was pointing.
