Finally on the move again.

We are on the move again.

Yesterday morning seen me up bright and early re-organising Miss Daisy in readiness to hit the road again. After a lovely breakfast with Cory and getting things done it was time to hook up Seedling. I think I had forgotten almost everything that I had been shown. Thank God for Cory.

He stepped me through it and I wrote it all down step by step in readiness for the next time and that will be this morning.

It was with tears in my eyes and a degree of nervousness that I pulled away from the kerb and headed down the road.  I am going to miss being around family again, knowing that there is somebody close by, but I will get over it and move on with life again. They are all big kids now and don't need their mother around.

I made it through the tunnels all OK, and headed off down the highway towards the Gold Coast and beyond. It was a good trip down the coast and without incident until I turned off to go to Bilambil, to visit Sue and Lance. Well it turned out to be Sue and Jai, but more of that later. I listened to the GPS and turned left when it should have in fact turned me to the right, still I followed as I had no idea where I was actually going, and ended up in a cul-de-sac in an industrial area where I could not really turn around. I tried to do a turn and almost knife jacked MD and Seedling.

I had traffic wanting to turn into one of the office buildings, but nobody was going to help until a young chap came over after dropping his little one at swimming lessons and offered to help me. He directed me perfectly and off I went with the correct directions. Sue rang at that time and she was able to direct right to her front door so to speak, and if she was here she would be able to verify that the GPS was directing me the wrong direction.

Once I was in the correct spot it then became apparent that I was going to have to unhook for the first time. Well that all went smoothly and in  a very short time, parked  both vehicles safely and settled into a wonderful night of catch up. Sue and I worked together some years ago when I lived in Brisbane and we became really good friends. She was there for me when my husband passed away and is the kind of friend that even though we don't catch up very often, when we do it is like it was only yesterday and the conversation moves forward very easily and quickly. I had a lovely night and morning. Their new house is high on a hill and overlooks the sea, it was just beautiful and so peaceful. Thank you Sue for your wonderful hospitality and a great night and morning.

So now the next thing was to re-hook up, this time on my own. No Cory to direct me this time. I had written down instructions yesterday as we hooked up and well lo and behold, it all went really well and I had things done in a short time. I surprised myself. Feeling just a little chuffed with myself.

Sue has suggested I take the back road to Murwillumbah, it is a winding road, and quite hilly, but very little traffic. What a beautiful drive it was. So scenic and running along the Tweed River. The hills were and surrounds were beautiful and once again if only there were spots to stop and take some photos. Through the cane fields and out on the flat country again. I am most impressed with Miss Daisy and Seedling, they have behaved beautifully and there really is little difference in driving. I know, I know, eveyone told me that it would be OK, but it really is.

I pulled into the Murwillumbah Showgrounds, to spend a couple of days, get my driving legs again, and just to ground myself. So pulled in and there is a dog show here, so lots of caravans, MH's and dogs. Dogs of all shapes and sizes and barking. I found a spot away from them all and have settled in. Unhitched again, and all is good.

As I am writing this, there is a huge thunderstorm over head, and raining quite heavily. A nice feeling actually, I love thunderstorms. I have spent the afternoon watching it rolling in over the mountains, and listening to the sugar cane crackling in the background as they start to burn it. All in all a wonderful afternoon, that also included a visitor from a little dog who thought he was my new best friend, sat at my feet and had a lovely snooze.

Where I go from here I am not sure but all I know it is great to be back on the road again and out here doing my thing. I have had a wonderful time in Brisbane as I said earlier, and it is just so good to be back out here.

Thanks guys. Fran, Greens is the learning centre of the GN community I think. I know my first trip there as a fully fledged GN, I learnt so much. Jules, Billeeeeee, John, and a heap of others taught me so much, particularly about free camping and how to extend my time out there.
Glad you were able to make it up there to meet that wonderful group of people.
